Watercolor Foundations: Composition  During this class we will explore how to create dynamic compositions using a variety of design principles such as contrast, balance, emphasis, and movement. This class is where conceptual ideas become experiential paintings. It’s perfect for those wanting to understand why some paintings feel more successful than others. We will hone our “artistic instinct” and, by the end of the six weeks, have many composition ideas to choose from when in need of inspiration.

Watercolor Foundations is an ongoing series of classes for students of all levels wanting to learn, practice and play with watercolors. There are three different six-week sessions: Elements of Art, Color, and Composition. Classes use abstract exercises that can be applied to any painting style.
