Intermediate Watercolor Journal Techniques with Jessica Olberz Singleton 1/12-2/16 Mondays 2-4pm

Working in an art journal gives us permission to paint for ourselves apart from any goal or outcome, and yet the book itself becomes a tangible record of our learning process and our creative experiments and expressions.
In addition to playing with basic watercolor supplies in our journals, during this 6 week session we’ll dive deeper into more sophisticated and personalized color palettes, color context, contrast, and expression. We’ll also play with layering techniques, including how to use wax resist crayons. Supply list.
This series will be taught through an abstract lens, though the methods and techniques can be applied to any watercolor style or subject. Participants are not required to take the beginning watercolor techniques class first, but should have basic working knowledge of the medium.
