Intermediate Acrylics with Julie Leidner 5/16-6/20 Tuesdays 6-8pm
This course is designed for painters who have some experience with acrylics and seek a structured, yet creative environment in which to take their skills to the next level. Unlike Acrylic for Beginners which focused on still life, this course will include an introduction to painting the human face. Using the human face as our primary muse in this course, we will focus on strengthening observational skills, making refined choices in color palette and composition, and gaining a broader understanding of the tools and techniques available to the acrylic painter. Direct observational painting as well as methods in translating 2-dimensional images to canvas will be practiced. Students will leave the course with 2 - 4 completed small paintings, depending on the individual’s speed, as well as many studies to keep for reference.
